The #altarselfie – I see Garrett starting a trend with this one.
Ginna and Garret got hitched yesterday among some amazingly fun family and friends…me included. I know Garrett through our mutual college professor back at the University of Colorado at Boulder where we both learned about stalking light and chasing color. Somehow he ended up in Orlando killing it at wakeboarding photography and publishing, and I ended up down here at a newspaper back in the day now on my own doing my thing. I’m always honored to shoot a photographer’s wedding and this was no exception. Garrett and Ginna (who did almost everything DIY and awesome) took over three venues – St. Michael’s Episcopal Church for a touching ceremony, Loch Haven Park for sunset, and the really unique space at Quantum Leap Winery in Orlando. Everything was beautiful as I expected, but moreover is was completely them. Loaded with color and creative touches pretty much everywhere, I couldn’t really focus. We were blessed with an amazing sunset with that warm Florida light only this state gets.
Now for a rundown of inside jokes that no one but those in attendance will get: altar selfie, random cursing, wasabi nuts, ottoman dancing, kid chicken fighting, parking lot naps, twin switching, eskimo kisses, flaming sparklers, smore stations, non-flat cakes, exploding sparklers in a can, liquor runs, ring bearer u-turn, and Coors light among Eagles Scouts. Such a fun time.
Thanks again Garrett and Ginna for having me….and here’s to many, many years of fun and living your life like you do – awesomely.
